This is Halyomorpha halys, the brown marmorated stink bug, or simply the stink bug. It is native to China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. It was accidentally introduced into the United States, with the first specimen being collected in September 1998. They are also the nastiest most annoying pieces of biological garbage that you will ever encounter in New York State, save for the mosquitoes. These things need to frickin’ go back to Asia, and stay there.
